“Having entered a lease on a new premises, Avantor had a vision to create a best-in-class distribution centre catering principally to the pharmaceutical industry. As Director of Operations, I had limited prior experience in dealing with commercial leases or large scale, construction projects and needed trustworthy and capable partner to guide me every step of the way. I was fortunate to meet John Duffy. Having taken time to understand our requirements which included a tight deadline, John began to chart the path we needed to make the dream a reality. John engaged with the original developer and landlord to snag out the base building and agree its condition before then securing landlord consent for our proposed fitout. At the same time, John busied himself co-ordinating our other design and construction partners as well as our specialist vendors and began to develop a procurement strategy for the extensive and complex task of transforming the building to meet our demanding needs.

 

With a first of kind project there were always going to be obstacles, but I am glad to say that John was willing and able to rise to any challenges that this demanding project presented. John certainly played a significant part in ensuring the successful outcome that saw our new DC open on time and on budget.”
